Corner 3

Howdy bike racers! Ol' Curly is back to "normal" I think. The body clock (and LC2's screaming) allowed him to wake up refreshed. It's been a busy week with the announcement of my coffee retirement. Ol' Curly waited most of yesterday for some kind of talk from the head SVP Rancher... but he just couldn't seem to find the time between all those important meetings and coffee breaks... so Curly sent out his announcement without doing "the talk" first... Oh, then Curly was asked to "set up some time"... NA GA DO IT... I don't have the ball anymore... someone else has it... you set up the time.

So needless to say... I'm sure someone will make the time seeing that the CEO and HS were copied on it... Ya see, no BS... Curly has hob-knobbed with the upper-ups in various fashions over the years. I think I owe them a notification that after 15 years, I'm walkin' out the door with a helluva a lot of organizational knowledge. It at least warrants a "have a good one".

Now on to corner 3... The Des Moines Criterium went off pretty much without a hitch. 10 races on the schedule. Masters State Champs, LAJORS series race... all the other cats. About 290 riders throughout the day including some PROS... Mainly, Morgan Schmidt... a local feller who went to Priority Health. He won our King of the Sprints trophy and nearly won the race... We gave out some SKUUTs, a few beer glasses, some Baron Brewing Beer, One heckuva lot of Greyhound Juice, etc... So what's with this Corner 3?

Corner 3 is run by Jim... Jim is a local. He's a carpenter that lives on Corner 3. When Ol' Curly did his duty of notifying residents that a race was coming to town, Ol' Jim was out with his buddies putting the finishing touches on his grandstands. They threw one HELL of a BBQ party on Corner 3... sorry I missed it Jim... I'll be down for some Kalbi on the 4th... and save me some beer.
