Howdy Power Crankers! Ol' Curly had a late night last night after such an inspiring day with his fellow ranchers. LC2 decided to pop up with some creative sleep patterns and feeding rituals that didn't fit into the norm. Curly will tell you this... after yesterday's "offsite", it was nice to come home and have someone all worked up to see you.
So let's talk about yesterday... It all started out like the usual corporate outing... a facilitator setting what's called "ground rules" for engagement... My contribution was that I wanted folks to not use them firggin buzz words like "alignment", "wholistic", "intergrated", "shared vision" etc... Let's use some damned English and lay things out... you all know that's how Ol' Curly rolls. Let's set that damned elephant out on the table and be "real"...
In cycling it helps to keep things in persepective... You may be out riding and then get pissed that you get a flat. Well, that flat may have prevented you from being at a the wrong place at the wrong time and getting spattered onto the pavement. You might be in a race and get popped off the back... thinking... "Oh, I just can't catch back up"... Ol Curly did that once (ok.. 3 times) at a race in the Tri-Cities... he spent 10 miles grinding up a climb and then another 20 decending some winding roads and hammering on the flats only to come back in contact with the pack at the finish... Ol' Curly's experience tells him that your current perspective is always less positive than your future perspective... if it wasn't, people wouldn't say, "Damn, if only I'd known, I would have..."
Ok... so I didn't really talk too much about the offsite yesterday... for good reason. Ol' Curly is still worn out from the experience. You may never know just what I have typed and deleted here in this space before it gets to you...
Well... needless to say, you have to keep things in perspective. You just never know when you'll catch back on.
