Ol' Curly got his sprinkler system yesterday... Sad really... When Ol' Curly was a single man, he never worried about watering. He just let the tumbleweeds go and the plants dry up while he rode his bike and drank coffee all day. Now Curly uses resources to see things like green grass and Tulips grow. Curly does like green grass tho... Yep... Ol' Curly has fond memories of mowing the grass as a kid... and running over snakes and such... damned vermin. Hey... speakin' of snakes... Did y'all see Ull-beeyotch throw a temper tantrum at the press for not "representing him well"... and then said "I'm not talking to the press anymore"... Ahhhh... snakes... gotta love 'em.
Ol' Curly took a long road to tell that Ullrich story huh? Yeah... sorry.
Here's a little story... OAD may appreciate. Yesterday... I brought a contractor in to help me with some copy-editing for TPTWD (that's The Project That Won't Die") ... she's from just outside of Dublin... the best part is not that tho. She has a very regular last name... One syllable. The monkeys at the check-in desk must have heard her accent and "subliminally" added an "O' " to her last name... Of course she was good natured about it, but it pissed Ol' Curly off a bit. That's my damned job to mess with names and make the jokes. To make her feel at home I put up shamrocks and a Kells cap in her cube space. I'd welcome her with some Guinness but she's expecting. Pleasant person... as the Irish usually are.
Alright... more cycling. I hate to see folks like Ol' Tyler and such crash and ruin their season. That's a real pain. I know how excited he was to do Flanders and Roubaix. A real shame... It takes real luck to make it through those races unscathed. BUT... for folks to do articles on how dangerous the Kemmelberg is... C'mon... That's bike racin'... slow your ass down if you're scared and you want to get through safe. Somehow alot of riders make it through... they're not better bike riders... they're just better bike handlers... Don't go ruinin' good races cuz folks crash... If we used that approach to setting up courses, we never have an OHOP again...
Ha!... just kiddin' PRUdog... I have fond memories of you draggin' us under some damned gravel infested road under the viaduct at lunch... just so we could go over cobbles in the Pike's Market**
**Curly used the "Tourist" version of Pike Place Market on purpose.
Your Training: I want you to take your nice road bike with it's race wheels on... and ride over the crappiest roads in Seattle... say... 1st Ave maybe... just to help you with your bike handling. Do 4 of those...
For the record... the greatest finish in a Paris Roubaix was Andre Tchmil in 1994... he not only flew like a badass mo fo to the finsh solo... he did some niec bunny-hopping of chicanes and curbs... To prove that I'm right... I'll reference you to Cycle Sport mag... they recognize it as well.

Ask your contractor if she's from the northside or the southside.
And don't take "west" as an answer.
I'm southside!
"...while he rode his bike and drank coffee all day." You forgot to throw in "spend hours checking online results and reading blogs by people he doesn't even know." My Local Oblivious Gardener (LOG) was "trained" in Ireland, where no one needs a sprinkler.
Yeah... the Editor thought those points didn't add anything to the post. In defense of "Stranger Blogs"... I've been studying these little online communities for quite some time now... and while they have various uses... I view them most for the entertainment value. The Running Commentary fella for instance... I know him from another community. Amanda Congdon (aka Interweb Girl) she was a vlogger on Rocketboom and now blogs/vlogs for ABC. Why I would be surprised if we saw a large corporate coffee company dvelop their own blog one day... possibly using the lessons learned from one of it's employees that specializes in character blogging and web-ertainment. Almost 100 posts is quite a resume you know.
Adobe?? You watching this?
Oh.. and she's from the North...
HOLY CRAP! Today is the 100th post! Since we put importance on things in base 10... I think it's time for a beer.
Put your copy-editor onto the latest email epistle from USAC and see if she catches the delightful "Team Sipstream" in the US pro tour team rankings.
Congrats on the century!
