Welcome back folks. I hope you had a good weekend and all. Cuz ya got 3 weeks until some practice racin' starts. Ol' Curly got a little trainin' in as well as he got to enjoy some dairy products from the good ol' folks at Smith Bros. Farms. When Ol' Curly was little, the Smith Bros did a fine job a keepin' little Curly supplied with plenty of calcium and now Curly Jr. gits to have the same kinda memories. All the chocolately recovery goodness you can drink. Their milk boxes are a bit better than they was back in Ol' curly's day tho. I put a little picture of ours to the left there... insulated too.
Speakin' of cows. Today is a big day in Curly's life. Ya see, Curly's job is trainin'.... He trains a whole mess of cows to do one thing. Walk from one place to another place. Now some cows get it the first time, some do it once but can't repeat it, some do it just cuz the rest is doin' it... and others do it cuz they know there's a treat at the end. Pretty simple huh? But then there's this whole hidden crap to Curly's job where some ranchers think Ol Curly should teach them how to do it a certain way and others that want to watch Curly do it several different ways only to end up doing it the original way... He has some other ranchers that want to work for Stuart Andersen, so they try to make themselves look all important by trying to make Curly look bad so they can look good and hopefully be a "bigger" rancher. Then Curly has some ranchers that want to butcher those cows as quickly as possible so they can make the money quickly... they know that Curly does his job right and then they git to do their job... hence make some money. Those last ranchers git it...
Well... Ol' Curly is interviewing to be one of them butcher/ranchers this morning. After 15 years of messin' around with all those jackass ranchers (not the butcher ranchers tho), Ol' Curly is in a spot to be one of them... except Curly is smart. He's going for Compliance Rancher... Ya see, Compliance Rancher has authority to escalate all of the bullshit "training" of cows. The training that has cows trying to make turns here and there and walk through deep rivers... or have the cows walk path that aren't possible.
Now wish Ol' Curly luck... cuz there's nothing worse than puttin' a cow through useless training or unnecessary training only to finish up at the butcher's shop.
Now I understand that "Waving" is still not common practice out there... Now I get that real change... lasting change... has to take place over time. So, I'll keep on folks about waving... and some day we'll be like every Harley Hog ridin' sonnuvagun out there... waving to other bikers like they're his family or somethin'.
Trainin' fer today... I want you to ride from point A to point B. We'll just see if you can follow my directions.
Remember... tomorrow is TEC4's day to spout on... so see ya Wednesday.

Argh!! You should warn your loyal readers when you're about to cross over into the truly offensive. All that talk of butchery (plus the graphic picture--and I don't mean the milkbox) was a little much for a vegetarian on a Monday morning--before coffee! It'll be a while before I have the stomach to wave again....
Oh yeah, and I think you are speaking of cattle, not cows.
I thought the French thing on Friday was worse than the cow thing... But then I like a burger every now and then. Now you know that the cattle/cow thing was a metaphor for my real life right?? I thought it was a pretty good way to highlight that we now have dairy service at home and the fact that I'm bout' to interview out of sheer frustration with corporate politics in the training world.
Um...huh? I managed to follow your training directions and successfully rode from point A to point B, but your comment is as lucid as some of what PDog writes....
