Yep... It's Thursday's Name That PRO. Sorry about yesterday's banner. It really was sad waddn't it? Ya see Ol' Curly's Photoshop CS3 was down cuz Mrs. Curly did some messin' around with files... Long story short... Curly had to use Photoshop 5.0 which really is pitiful. But, we're back in action.
As usual, Curly is a little pissed that The Tours are really puttin' the squeeze on Unibet in their bid to become sovereign. With the focus on doping, it's just hard to take this sort of behavior. My suggestion is that they go back to a modified Super Prestige Pernod system again where ALL races on the calendar get a SPP points designation. Grand Tour wins get major points (but not enough to win the overall) and each race get something. Stage of course get a little more than a one day (not much) as it's back to back racing. Under the current system, if you ain't PROTour, you ain't nuthin'. If you're a rider, yes... you're gonna have to do some racing to win the overall. With my system, the little guy promoters, little guy teams and little guy riders get a chance to show themselves and it puts a stop to this nonsense where sponsors, riders, and teams are forced to scramble for a PT team. And git rid of the damned jersey... jeeze, like there ain't enough damned jerseys to wear all season. Not sure what was totally wrong with the old system except that there wasn't as much bogus admin shite. The old system had it's flaws, but then you don't rip down the house if only the kitchen needs a remodel. JEEBUS-H! PRO Tour is a stupid name too. C'mon, could they come up with something better and more creative? I mean, I come up with a new banner every day... they could at least come up with something. And I expect more from the French... If the Italians were runnin' the marketing that damned thing we'd have Armani doing the design, and some damned fine phallic symbols proudly displayed everywheres. OK, so maybe there's a reason they left it to the French.
Major development in the Curly household last night. Lil' Curly discovered the value in keeping hydrated. Yeah, he's discovered my Tacx water bottles... the finest in the world. Now I can't git him to leave them alone. That's o.k.... it all fits into my plan of encouraging him to be the next Eddy Merckx.
Alright... Name that PRO is in the sidebar, I expect you to think about it carefully. First North American PRO to win a major stage race. I've got a video and banner all ready for tomorrow.
Your Training for today: Ya got a TT in less than 2 weeks... I want you to break that TT into segments. 32 segments to be exact. Do 32 intervals at 40 mph... each interval is a 1/4 mile long. Rest well in between each interval. Tomorrow... you'll rest.
