Cycling and Sentiment

Now Ol' Curly is gonna get sentimental on ya today... cuz it's Valentine's day and all. Ol' Curly has a soft spot for old timers... especially old timers that have influenced him. Now go grab yerself a tissue while I tell you a tale of how Curly got into cycling. It was the summer 1984... and a pre-teen, pimply-faced Curly was watching the '84 Olympics. It just so happened that Curly didn't care too much for anything besides soccer in them days, but that particular day happened to be the men's cycling road race. Now as Curly watched that there fella in the stars and stripes snap away from his breakaway partners it struck a chord inside... He started to get amped. You could see the crowds cheering like crazy. Rootin' for that fella like there was no tomorrow. That feller was Alexi Grewal. Now Ol' Curly likes that fella. He had an attitude at the time that made Curly smile. Awnry as a cuss. Curly likes that... oh, and did he like to win bike races... It makes Curly kinda sad to see him nowadays... a mere shell of the smartass bike rider he was back then. So I dug into the archives for this footage... and I'll share it with you now. Happy Valentine's Day. Now if you know Ol' Grewal, let him know Curly's lookin' for him... cuz he wants to shake his hand. Thank him for introducing Ol' Curly to what the meanin' of smartass is.

Your Trainin' fer today: In true Valentine's spirit... I want you to do 20 X 20 second all out sprints... now if your lungs explode and you pass out, yer outta shape... but if you're have been doin' what Curly tells you all along... you'll feel it in your heart. Aww cripes... readin' that makes me sick. See you tomorrow.
