Nice work to those that said Tim Peddie... that of course is correct. We can draw a couple of things from the other answers... a) smartasses b) guessing c) looked it up and came up with Bob Mionske cuz it was close and d) they said Paul Dahlke cuz he won alot and he was local.

So here's the story about Tim Peddie. Tim and I carpooled to the Spokane in 1987 for the Jr. Worlds Qualifier for the Northwest. After arriving at the hotel and going for a spin we decided to hit the Spaghetti Facility for dinner. We got a table, sat down... blah blah... anyways, I noticed some country bumpkin dudes and their lady gal staring at Tim and laughing. I told Tim and he kind of brushed it off. As the Deliverance Trio was leaving, the short bearded one grabs Tim's head like he's going to kiss him... Tim quickly pulls away and cocks his fist like he's gonna punch... and the guy says "You 2 make a real cute couple"... and they walk off laughing.

Tim went on the next day to finish like 3rd (on a broken spoke, brake rubbing) while I went on to draft a follow car after getting shelled going through the feed zone.

I won't tell you about me borrowing Tim's sweet full-Campy Record-Pogliaghi track bike for a week to do some motorpaced fixed gear riding on Rainer Ave behind my friend's Datsun... when I was supposed to be using it on the track only... then the lockring came loose, slipped off and the cog unspun while I was back-pressuring down a small hill... and had to cruise through across Renton Ave traffic like goddamn Nelson Vails in Quicksilver... Yeah... I won't tell you about that.

I'll save the Pat White story for later...
