Curly FRIDAY Roundup and Trivia Recap!

Well... some folks thought the picture to the left might be their ticket. Although quite a nice picture... not the right answer. It was in fact Domo. Take a look at these two photos though... remember seeing them when they were fresh...? new...? exciting? You probably got all giddy and stuff about cycling. Kinda see them in a different light now knowing that at least one feller in each photo MAY (did) dope? Nuff said on that. Again... nice work to those that did their homework and Googled the answer for 2001 Paris Roubaix.

Latest News... There's still a fricken USCF-OBRA-esque power struggle going on between the ASO and UCI. Seems Unibet's exclusion from Paris-Nice might result in he UCI pulling the sanctioning of the event. Now the OTHER news guys might have you believe that the Paris-Nice will get cancelled if they don't fix it. Do you really think that the PRO-Tour economic model will result in cancellation of the P-N? No way... ASO will let Unibet race ultimately, the ASO-pansy asses will waddle back to their corner (bitchin' and moanin' in French the entire way)... The UCI will take a few French insults in the media and the struggle will go on until July when the UCI announces that Ullrich (cleared by then) can race the Tour. Alright... so the OBRA-USCF thing was a little different (flip-flopped)... but still?
Speakin' of Who Ate All the Pies... (and Wasted All of the Time) Ullrich was quoted (with regards to his submitting a DNA sample)"I want this affair to be sorted out quickly so that I can get back on my bike," Alright... now this pisses Curly off... more than Bjarne R. prolly... WTH? Quickly??... like quickly as in you could have just "cleared" yourself by doing this from the beginning... and "get back on my bike"??? I think you need to do that now if you have hopes of returning to the Tour. Ullrich needs my help obviously... Ulle?? Call me buddy... I have a programme for you.
It's been a good week since I took this here BLOG back... we've had exciting new artwork/banners every day... new colors... new bitchin'. You even got another trivia. We got us another one of them e-mails yesterday... asking about the "process" here at Coach Curly Corp. "How to do come up with all this content... 5 days a week?" Well... every morning the group gets together at 5 am sharp, has us some cowboy coffee, read the paper... take a roll call. Then we get to brainstorming. Phyllis usually takes the meeting notes. Cookie shares some ideas from Cyclingnews.com... we laugh at some PEZ news. Then Ol' Buck gets us started on a speed-round of ideas for the day. We take a blind vote and then without looking, we send it off to IT and Creative to do the layout. Yeah... managing this group is alot like a sandwich shop... alot of different sanwiches... ya know... your Reubens... your BLTs... PBJ... damn I hate sandwiches...

yeah... that's how we do it here at Coach Curly Corp. Now for today's training we're gonna do hills... alot of them... all in the big ring. Now for your recovery... that be tomorrow's 5 hour ride.

That same feller that asked out the "process" also asked about the banners we've been going through like Tic Tacs... so I had IT and Creative put together a little museum for you all. Here's the link.

Name that PRO Answer!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a chance to play the game... Looks like some of you were either playing around with Pruitt or you really are out of touch with "the scene". So I could just tell you all the answer... and I think you know it already. But that just wouldn't be my style... or any FUN. Now I may not be able to do this for every answer, I think it's necessary for the first one at least.

Before I reveal the answer, I want to address a couple of comments that I've gotten in the last few weeks that I've been here. Some have said, "Dood! Don't you have better things to do than to make this crap?!" The answer is "NO!" I ride my bike, play with the boy, spend time with my wife, give my employer 8 squares... do my chores and hang with friends. What the hell else should I do. The difference is that I don't blow off ANY time in my day. Every second is full. I like it that way and I like to entertain... my kid, my wife (albeit a hard task) and you people. Now stop thinking and asking that sort of crap and be a kid for once, enjoy and appreciate. Because it's better to regret the things you have done than to regret the things you haven't done. Next week's question is kinda hard so take your vitamins and get your rest...

AND NOW... THE ANSWER!!!!!

Which PRO was it?

ok... new game for this blog. It's called "The Name that PRO game!"... I'll come up with a question every Thursday, post it in the sidebar and the readers vote for their answer. Your prize?? Damn, what's with people always wanting prizes? This isn't PRO quiz time... So, ok... you get some new knowledge as your prize and I'll make them good questions so they'll be entertaining. Today's PRO quote is relatively easy amd will be catalogued in the "Umm, sure it happened that way" category... The questions will get harder and more obscure as the weeks progress... they may even be Northwest specific and pertain to a local race. Alright... now cast your vote and see the results.

OH!... I nearly forgot. Coach Curly called last night... he says that only the First Rate Mortgage Team has to ride slow this weekend. Everyone else has to do the regular weekend workout.

"he was bumping me in the sprint - but that's casual, that's racing. Especially in the sprint, if you are sprinter, it is happening up there. It's not that big of a deal, but he was really, really aggressive after the race. He wanted to fight with me. He said he wanted to punch me here and there, and I said no, I don't fight. My specific words were, "I'm not a fighter, I'm a lover." And that made him really mad there."
